Connections are the foundation that let agents operate directly on your exchange accounts.
They enable safe communication between your balances and FlowTerminal — allowing the system to manage liquidity without ever touching your funds.

Why connections matter

To run any agent, you need to link an exchange account.
When you connect it, the system works through secure API keys that you create on your exchange.
These keys are restricted to read and trade permissions only — withdrawals are never allowed.
Each connection works only through verified IP addresses.
This ensures that your API key can be used exclusively from FlowTerminal’s servers, providing an extra layer of protection for your assets.

How it works

  1. You connect an exchange account using API keys.
  2. The platform checks that access is safe and verified.
  3. Once confirmed, you can run Spread and Depth, Support, or Treasury agents through that account.
If the connection ever goes offline, agents will automatically pause until it’s restored.

Recommendations

  • Use sub-accounts for different agents or strategies — this keeps balances separate and easier to manage.
  • Fund each sub-account only with the amount you expect to use.
  • Keep your main exchange account clean and untouched by automated activity.

Summary

Exchange Connections make automation possible while keeping full control in your hands.
Your keys stay yours, and security stays the priority.
